Sector definition
Membership is by SIC code, from
. That is a crude proxy and has to be read
as one: plenty of companies that own property carry a trading SIC code,
and plenty carrying 68209 own nothing at all. These counts size a cohort
you could build, not the property-owning population.
Companies per region
By postcode area of the registered office — which for small companies is often their accountant's address rather than anything they own.
| Area | Companies |

Size distribution
Latest filed net assets. Not filed is its own band and is never read as nil — a company filing filleted accounts has no figure to report, which is normal and says nothing about size.

Age profile of controllers
Serving directors and PSCs, counted by approximate age — Companies House publishes the month and year of birth only. A distribution, deliberately: how many controllers are over 65 is a market-sizing fact, and which of them they are is the subscription product.

Charge concentration
Outstanding charges per company. A charge with no satisfaction date is still registered; that is not the same as the facility still being drawn.

Charge concentration by lender
Who holds security over this sector. Lender names come from the charges register as filed, so the same lender appearing under two spellings counts twice, and a lender whose name contains a comma may be split in two. Indicative, like everything else read off free text. Lenders are companies, not individuals.
